Show me the way …..
Walking around shops…in the car on the radio… even turning on MTV you can’t escape that song. The one I’m referring to is “Amarillo” by Tony Christie.
Well after a few jokes about asking radom people while in the car, “Is this the way to ehh … what you call it … yeah Amarillo?”, i thought i would provide a public service and acually find the way!
Well according to Google Maps they are a few ways to get to Amarillo …
By train … you pass Tascosa Country Club ….
By plane (by far the easy way to get there)…. It has its own International Airport, so probally any good airline would fly there, Continental Airlines provide flights from Edinburgh or Glasgow for around £406 return (inclu .taxes)
…. or just south on Route 87 by car, just past Ross Rogers Golf Course!
Of course when you get there you’ll have to find some accomodation … google to the resuce again
Some facts about Amarillo from they City’s site
Based at the crossroads of Interstate Highways 40 and 27, Amarillo is 360 miles north-west of Dallas Fort Worth and 265 miles west of Oklahoma City. It was ranked as one of the best cities in the US for quality of life in a recent survey.
Amarillo became a city in 1887, becoming rich on the local supplies of oil, gas and cattle. According to the census of 2000, Amarillo is now 14th-largest city in Texas with a population of 173,000 with an average annual population increase of 1 per cent.
God do I love google!

a) Amarillo
