My Dad
Hey everyone,
Long time no post .. Well my degree has taken over my life for the past 6 months, Team project, lectures, assessments and everything else … Its been a battle but it’s all over now. Team Project is finished and handed in, lectures are over life can come back to normal before exams. Well that was the case before my dad went into hospital
Well he went into the Western Infirmary for his Operation … he’s been suffering from unstable angina for the past 5 months now and it hadn’t been getting any better. It was decided that he needed a Double Coranry Bypass which was performed on Monday morning … After 6 hours of surgery his body couldn’t handle the amount of blood that was flowing around his body and so his blood pressure crashed to around 30 distolyic. We later found out that they had performed a Quadruple Bypass and his body had been reacting badly to the medication he was being given.
I am now happy to tell you all, that after a few tense hours, hes all ok now … hes getting moved from Intensive care to a High Dependancy suite so it is a step in the right direction! Hopefully my Mum and I will be able to visit tonight even though he will be highly sedated and drugged up on morphine. I’ll update this post as I hear more information so check back if you are concerned. Lets hope he makes a speedy and sucessfull recovery.
UPDATE: Tuesday 21st @ 22:18
We got in to ICU and saw him tonight. Hes sitting up and talking which is good … They are still keeping him in the ICU just incase he has another funny turn but that’s unlikly. Funny story for everyone … the first thing he asked me was if I paid his phone bill (typical fathers) … which I had
UPDATE: Wednesday 22nd @ 18:15
He’s out of his bed and trying to start to walk around. Still on medication for his blood sugar and getting some Adrenaline but that should be finshed tonight. All going well he’ll be moved from High Dependancy into a ward tommorow morning ::fingers crossed::
UPDATE: Tuesday 4th @ 11:20
He’s getting out at 1 pm today … after a couple of infections he’s fit enough to face the world … I can tell you all that he’s very excited to be getting out after a stay of 2 weeks and 2 days! Thanks everyone for you well wishes and your support during this period ![]()
